FM EDUCATIONAL CHANNEL (FM 105.6 MHz)
Gyanvani is one and the only Popular Educational FM Channel of India running under Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.
In Karnataka there are two Gyanvani Stations, one is at Bangalore and another called Gyanavani Mysore is at Karnataka State Open University, Manasagangotri, Mysore. Presently it is having two transmission daily four hours 6-00 PM to 10-00 PM and four hours 6-00 AM to 10-00 AM in the morning. The Programmes broadcast in the previous evening are repeated the next morning.
Mysore Gyanvani radiating at 105.6 MHz on FM band broadcast recorded lessons given by experienced KSOU teachers and experts from other Universities and institutions. Announcements regarding academic activities, admission procedure, distribution of lessons, submission of assignments weekend counseling, contact programmes, payment of examination fees, examination centers,, examination time table, information regarding announcement of results, convocation fee and date, interviews with rank students & gold medalists etc. will be broadcasted from time to time. In addition to this social awareness programmes, Women empowerment programmes, environment enrichment programmes, cultural programmes and ‘Phone In’ programmes are being broadcasted.
